In 1932, the Marburger Mission began their missionary work in Brazil. Through this, various organizations and churches were established (including the AICD Association). In the 90s, they experienced a revival, and sent missionaries to different countries of the world.

Later they were touched by God, to return in gratitude to the Germans what they have received from them: passionate missionaries. So the Marburg Mission convened, in collaboration with the AICD in 2011, the first missionary of the project "Reverse Mission": Samuel Kutenski and family from Brazil. In the following ten years, there have been various fruits of this work: the plantings of the Christus Gemeinde churches in Essen and Wesel, the revitalization of the Christus Gemeinde church in Stuttgart, as well as various trainings and conferences on growth and discipleships throughout Germany. After this experience, they realized that there is a big potential to promote the missionary work in Germany and the rest of Europe. That was the beginning of Renew, so that by plantings, revitalizations and multiplications of churches a spiritual awakening in Europe is happening.

The principles and values of the Reformation have been lost in most of Europe. Many churches are dying and need to close. On the other hand, there are lots of missionaries from all over the world, to plant and revitalize churches in Europe. Many of them are, however, alone, and often frustrated, for example due to the big cultural barriers that need to be overcome. In this we see our calling.
